UNIT 14: FREETIME FUN
PERIOD 86
LESSON 2
I.Aim : By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about their favorite TV programs II.Language content :
1/ Grammar : Review : Polite request
Would you like to …; Let’s …; What about …?;Can you make it on …?
2/ Vocabularies : a cowboy movie, detective,
III.Techniques: Slap the board, Rub out and remember, Word cue drill,
IV.Teaching aids: sur-board
V.Proceduce:
Teachers and students’ activities Content
- Write the words on the board. Call 2 teams of students (6 Ss each team) to the front of class
- Make sure they stand at an equal distance from the board
- Teacher calss out one word in Vnese, the 2 Ss must run forward and slap the word on the board
- The one who slaps the correct words first is the winner
- continue to ask 2 more Ss to come forward…until the words are slapped
- T presents new words and guides Ss to read
- Ss repeat after the teacher
- T checks new words by “Rub out and remember” game
- Ss play the game
- T presents the model sentences by asking Ss some questions
- Ss listen and answer
- Teacher writes some notices on the board
- Ss write them down on their notebooks
- Ask Ss to run through the vocabularies first
- Ask Ss to practice the questions and then the answers
- Call on some pairs practice asking and answering (Open pairs)
- Ask Ss to work in closed pairs
- Monitor and help Ss
- T gives delayed correction
- Draw the pictures and the cues on the board
- Elicit the exchanges from the Ss
- Get SS to practice each exchange before going on to another exchange
- After finish the dialogue, ask some good pairs to demonstrate the whole dialogue (open pairs)
- Get the whole class to work in pairs (closed pairs) to practice the dialogue
- Monitor and correct
- Teacher write some notes on the board
- Students copy them down in their notebooks
- Teacher asks Ss to prepare Unit 14 ( A3 )
